Sara Hayward studied for a Degree in Fine
Art at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford
University, and for a Master of Arts Degree in Printmaking
at the Royal College of Art, London. Her work is represented
by the UK illustration agency Eye Candy. She is married
to artist Paul Powis. She has exhibited in USA, Finland
and Italy, as well as throughout the UK.

This was a very simple print in three colours (black,
pink and yellow on white paper)inspired by a recent
printmaking residency in Venice, Italy. The black
circles are symbollic of the wooden structure on which
Venice is built. The facades of the beautiful buildings
is a common theme in my work. The print was produced
a la main, sans presse. The residency inspired me
to invest in my own Harry Rochat press which is now
installed in my studio. Any future prints will be
very different.
